About Us

The Story of KJFP

“King Jesus Forever Praised” 92.7 FM is a ministry of Joy Community Fellowship, a Southern Baptist Church located in Hot Springs, South Dakota, committed to Biblical media and ministries. After many years of prayer concerning a radio ministry, the opportunity to apply for a low power FM license was opened by the FCC in fall of 2013. Our church received a Construction Permit March of 2014 and began broadcast in July of 2015. We are licensed by the FCC as a non-commercial educational station that is prohibited from advertising. Furthermore, our corporate by-laws and IRS regulations as a 501 (c) (3) tax-exempt entity prohibit us from making a profit or benefiting our directors. Therefore, we are purely a Christian ministry that exists and functions for charitable and benevolent purposes only. We are totally dependent upon the gracious support and contributions of those whom God leads to join with us in this ministry. To God be the glory!

BIBLICAL FOUNDATIONS

    1. We believe the Holy Bible is the inspired Word of God, without any error in its original autograph, and the all-sufficient authority in matters of faith, doctrine, and Christian living. We accept only the 39 books of the Old Testament and the 27 books of the New Testament, as generally accepted by Baptists, to be the sole authority for faith and practice.

    2. We believe in one God, eternally existing in three Persons: the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit.

    3. We believe in the virgin birth of Jesus Christ. He is true God and true man. He died on the cross for our sins. He rose bodily from the dead, and ascended into heaven where He sits at the right hand of the Father and is now our High Priest and Advocate.

    4. We believe that man was created in the image of God but fell into sin and is therefore, lost. Only through regeneration by the work of the Holy Spirit can man’s salvation and spiritual life be obtained.

    5. We believe that eternal salvation is the free gift of God, entirely apart from man’s works and is possessed by any and all who have an embracing faith in and receive Jesus Christ as their personal Lord and Savior.

    6. We believe in a regenerated church membership: that is, persons old enough to understand their need for Jesus Christ and, of their own free will, embrace Him as their personal Lord and Savior.

    7. We believe that baptism is by immersion and the Lord’s Supper is a memorial to His suffering and death on the cross. These are ordinances to be observed by the church in its present age. They are, however, not to be regarded as a means for man’s salvation.

    8. We believe in the personal, bodily, and glorious return of the Lord Jesus Christ and that His second coming inspires believers for dynamic and zealous life and service for Him while waiting for His return.

    9. We believe in the bodily resurrection of the dead, the everlasting punishment and separation from God of the unsaved in hell.

    10. We believe that marriage is a biblical institution established by God as clearly described in the scriptures. We recognize that marriage is the uniting of one man and one woman in covenant commitment for a lifetime. Accordingly, this Church, its pastors, staff and members will not participate in same sex unions or same sex marriages, nor shall its property or resources be used for such purposes.

    11. We believe the Bible teaches that legitimate sexual relations are exercised solely within marriage. Hence, we oppose all forms of sexual immorality, including adultery, homosexuality, and pornography.

    12. We believe in the autonomy of the local church. The church shall manage its own affairs and shall not be subject to any other religious body or organization.

    13. We believe that God offers redemption and restoration to all who confess and forsake their sin, seeking His mercy and forgiveness through Jesus Christ.

    14. We believe that every person must be afforded compassion, love, kindness, respect, and dignity. This church stands ready to provide loving ministry to anyone who struggles with sexual sin. We believe that hateful and harassing behavior or attitudes directed toward any individual are to be repudiated and are not in accord with Scripture or the doctrines of this church.

    15. We subscribe to the “Baptist Faith and Message, 1996 revision”, adopted by the Southern Baptist Convention as our larger statement of faith with its scriptural references.
